About Dr Tik Liem.

Dr. Liem obtained his Bachelor and Master of Chemical Engineering in 1957 and 1958 respectively from the University of Indonesia, and in 1965 received his Ph.D degree majoring in
Science Education from Cornell University. He taught at the Teachers College in Bandung, Indonesia for six years, and served for over 20 years in the position of Associate Professor of Education at St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada.

He has offered courses in elementary and secondary science
methods to pre- and in-service teachers and has conducted numerous science teaching workshops throughout USA,
Canada, Europe and Australia. He has travelled extensively throughout those countries and participated in many national and international science education conferences. He was one of the most sought after speakers and workshop leaders in North America. His experience in working with teachers and students gave him insight in identifying the needs of science teachers at home and abroad.

Tik Liem was also an accomplished artist and musician. His oil paintings are decorating the walls of many a home. His demonstrations of discrepant science events have aroused the interest of science students, teachers, educators, and the general public as well.
